—THE CHALLENGE

Independent providers face unique governance pressures

The regulatory demands placed on independent and private healthcare providers have never been greater.

CQC expectations have evolved significantly. PSIRF has introduced a fundamental shift in how patient safety must be managed. And the consequences of getting it wrong — for patients, for staff, and for the organisation — are severe.

Most independent providers do not have the in-house resource to meet these demands at the standard required.

Harbour Governance exists to close that gap.

CQC inspection readiness feels overwhelming

Understanding what regulators actually look for — and building the evidence to demonstrate it — requires specialist knowledge that most clinic teams simply don't have.

PSIRF is new, complex, and often misunderstood

The shift from the Serious Incident Framework to PSIRF is substantial. Many providers are implementing it without a clear plan, creating both regulatory risk and cultural friction.

Boards lack the assurance they need

Without well-structured governance reporting, boards cannot fulfil their oversight responsibilities. Gaps in assurance are not just a compliance issue — they are a patient safety risk.
